Outlook For Mac Signs Out Of 365 Every Week
Hi All, First let me say you all have been great in responding to all my questions and I appreciate the time. My issue is that I have some uses running Mac OS High Sierra and Office for Mac (either 13 or 24) and they are getting prompted for their windows password when starting up the program. This seems to happen each time they start up Outlook and occasionally through the day they may be challenged for their password again. In trying to diagnose this, I turned on logging in outlook on one machine and this is where my questions really stem: 1) Will the outlook logs capture this password challenge? 2) If so, what should Iook for? Even in short duration sessions, the log can get quite large.
When I view the logs in the Console app the one thing I cannot do is search for any specific text (such as error) as any entry in the console search field results in no results. I suspect its because this app is broken or doesn't work with the outlook log because its probably not indexed. I suspect this because I can search for 'OUTLOOK' which is clearly displayed on screen and still get no results. Is the Outlook log of any value? Or is there another log I can consult on the Mac OS side that may help me understand why some users are experiencing this password challenge? And by the way, its not all my users, so far three only.myself, and i've had the issue for about 2 months off and on (I try to work in windows environment most of the time, so only use outlook for mac when commuting) But the other two users started having the issue last week, and we cannot coincide this with any S/W or OS updates on their computers (they swear they haven't done any just before this issue started) and the exchange server has not been updated during that time or in the past few months. This password challenge issue doesn't occur in Outlook 2016 for windows or 2013 for windows.
I still have some testing, just looking for ideas on any tools or logs on the apple side that may help me capture some error or clue. Thanks in advance. Hi Vincent, Thanks for your effort Outlook for Mac logs. About the primary issue (Outlook for Mac prompts for the password), I suggest you try to clear keychain to see if this issue persist: • Quit Outlook and all other Office applications.
• Start Keychain Access by using one of the following methods: Select the Finder application, click Utilities on the Go menu, and then double-click Keychain Access. Or select the Finder application, click Utilities on the Go menu, and then double-click Keychain Access. • In the search field in Keychain Access, enter Exchange.
As of the last week I've noticed a couple of issues with Outlook and Outlook Pro. Outlook pro logs me out constantly and can't sign me back in again without removing and reinstalling. It just gives me a splash screen that says you've been signed out and to close all windows. Macbook Pro Early 2015 OS 10.13.4 8GB.
• In the search results, select each item to view the Account that's listed at the top, and then press Delete. Repeat this step to delete all items for your Exchange account. Meanwhile, since we have specialist for Outlook for Mac issue, you can contact them Outlook for mac issues and getting better support ( Go to Help > Contact Support). And they will be happy to work with you. Thanks, Richard. Hi Richard, Thanks for the information. I had tried deleting the Exchange entries in the keychain on all three machines and that does not resolve the issue.
Alt key for mac excel. The internet is very consistent on the recommendations in this regard (delete Exchange Keychain entry) which is why I was actually wondering if there is something in the log that may help point to a failure point I can approach. The internet is also very consistent with users who have had this issue for years (centuries in computer terms) and no solution.
So far, I've tried the keychain thing and retyping the domain user ID with the slash (that never worked IMHO). I've tried deleting and recreating the main profile (made one user mad because we lost all his locally saved e-mail).
We also tried, rebuilding and restoring the computer via time machine and that didn't help, so now on one machine I'm taking the nuke and pave approach and just setting the user up as brand new; fresh installs. I don't have alot of hopes. The hope of the log (hope isn't really a good technical process, but all I have left now) is that it may point to a setting or failure on the server side but in order to convince the Exchange Admin there's an issue there I'd like some proof. The event viewers on the CAS and MBX servers do not show any entries other than the users are attempting to log in with their *** Email address is removed for privacy *** e-mail address rather than the domain username that we have configured in outlook.
I will reach out to the Outlook support via the process you described. Again, don't have any notion that will help otherwise the solution to this issue for other users via the internet would be to do the same, and I haven't found solution anywhere.
