I am having this same issue. I have an iPod touch 4th generation, about two hours ago, my Facebook app was in need of an update and so I went to update it and it said 'Unable to download application' and it has been like this since about 11. Even my Facebook icon that was on my homescreen is completely grey with a little black loading back at the very bottom of the grey box and it's not doing anything. I press on it and it just says that it is unable to download at this time. I tried setting my clock forward and that didn't work. I shut my iPod off a bunch of times and rebooted it a few times and nothing is working.

Hopefully this gets fixed really soon because it is really bugging me.
