Outlook For Mac Delete Email From Inbox When Moving To Folder
I would like to ask a question,,, I have Outlook 2010, and when I move a piece of mail from my inbox to a folder, it will reappear in the inbox. Mail that I have moved from inbox to a folder. Will still be in the inbox when I come back to that inbox. Sep 17, 2018 - Outlook Mail will move the folder to the Deleted Items folder. It will be permanently deleted after a certain time in that folder, like other items.
See attached picture. Follow the numbers. With the top box of #5 checked, email gets deleted from the INBOX, but it does not go to the Deleted Items folder. They seem to just disappear, both in outlook and on our Smartermail server. When you uncheck #5 top box, email that you delete DOES go to the deleted mail folder, but it will not leave the inbox (which is a FAR more annoying “feature”) This has happened on multiple computers. I ass-u-me this is a known issue, but I do not see any solutions other than reverting to Outlook 2013.
Sorry for that! I've tried many times to root the mailbox, it shouldn't have caused such issue. All your subfolders should have been listed there. You can remove the 'Inbox' from the 'Root folder path' and see if your folders are back. What if we manually click the Purge button under Folder tab > Clean Up group? In addition, you may try to switch to 'Hide Messages Marked for Deletion' view under View tab > Change View as a temporary workaround: (BTW, 'Gmail' is a typo, I've corrected it to avoid confusion for other community members.) Instead of moving it to a Deleted Items folder, it only gets “marked as deleted” but will still exist in the original folder. To actually delete an item, you’ll need to “Expunge” the item which is called “Purge” in Outlook. See the following article for more information: However, I made the following changes and now my deleted emails are going to the Deleted Items folder. You may also have try and see the result: 1. Uncheck 'Mark items for deletion but do not move them automatically' and check 'Purge items when switching folders while online'.
Root the mailbox. Type Inbox in the 'Root folder path' field, press OK and complete the Change Account wizard. Hope this helps.
